Mechanics Flow for the ODK Bartending Competition:

1. Entry Submission:

• Requirements for Submission:
  • Bartenders submit a cocktail recipe via the FORM above
  • Submit a high-quality picture of the drink.
• Submission Deadline: November 14, 2024

2. Entry Review and Shortlisting:

• November 16 to 17, 2024:
  • Organize and review all submitted recipes and photos (To be reviewed and shortlisted by ODK).
  • Shortlist top 25 participants based on set criteria.
  • Notify all participants by email and by call and get their presentation schedule confirmation:
    • Top 25: Will be informed that they are moving on to the next round.

3. Actual Presentations (November 18-21, 2024):

• Top 25 participants: Chosen participants shall schedule a visit at IL Mercato – ODK showroom for an in-person presentation.
• Il Mercato & ODK will evaluate the cocktails in person (Also remotely via live video feed), focusing on the presentation, taste, and overall execution. Each participant will be required to use at least one ODK product and at least 15ml of the chosen product. The presentation will be done with video coverage while performing the drink creation to be sent to ODK for evaluation and judging.
• Goal: Select the top 15 participants who will advance to the semifinals.

4. Announcement of Top 15 (November 23, 2024):

• Notify the Semifinalists: The top 15 bartenders who will proceed to the semifinals.
• Send formal invitations for the semi-final and final event happening on December 02, 2024.

5. Semi-Finals and Finals (December 02, 2024):

• Event Date: December 02, 2024, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Monday)
• Venue: Raffles Hotel, Zallaq
• Format:
  • All 15 semifinalists will present their drinks live in front of judges and guests.
  • Competitors will need to bring everything they will require and only ODK products will be provided at the venue.
  • Judges will score them based on criteria like originality, taste, presentation, and use of ODK syrups.
  • After initial judging, competition will be trimmed down to top 5 and will be the FINALISTS.
  • The 5 Finalists will go on to a “Black Box” Competition, where they do not know what ingredients are available for them to use. From here, we will get our first-ever Bahrain Bartending Grand Champion.
• Prizes:
  • All 15 semifinalists will receive certificates of participation as semifinalists.
  • 5 Finalists will receive premium ODK bartending tools and plaque of recognition for being finalists (To be given after the event, complete with full name of the finalist)
  • Winner will receive a trophy and an all-expense paid trip to ITALY and a tour to ODK facilities!
